God Has A Plan

I find it difficult sometimes to trust and believe that God has a plan and a purpose for my life. I have graduated college and I have no idea what comes next. Fear has paralyzed me so I have not taken the GRE or the MCAT. I haven’t applied to much because I haven’t taken any of those test’s and because I believe my GPA is not competitive enough. Yet, my heart burns with a passion for public health, children’s health, nutrition, medicine, writing and the gospel; which I believe has something to do with the plan God has for my life.

That could have been the end of the post but God is amazing. Even when your faith is just about gone and you want to give up, God shows you that He loves you. What do I mean? My cousin really wanted a dress for an event that she was going to be in. The dress cost $800 which is not cheap for a college student (or anyone else for that matter). We prayed and she called her mother. Her mother talked to the council woman for the city that she lives in. The council woman called the dress shop, got a discount and then bought the dress for my cousin. The $800 dress that she could not afford, she got!

If God could provide a dress for my cousin, then how much more will He provide for me? How much more will He open doors that no one can close? I thank God that even though I feel as though I am inadequate to fulfill the passion He has placed on my heart, that God makes me adequate. That in my weakness, He is my strength. That when I don’t believe that I can, God shows me that I can and that I will, through Him. When God is for me there is nothing that can keep me from the plan and the purpose that God has for me.

I share this because I believe there are people, like me, who find it difficult to trust and believe that God will work it out. But if you surrender, trust God and wait on Him, I promise that He will fulfill His promise in Jeremiah 29:11.  Trust and believe that God has you. I am going to try harder to trust and believe that God has me and will claim the promise; “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  –  Jeremiah 29:11.

Until next time,

Elyse
