Hello everyone!! It is week 3 of 2019! How are your goals for the year coming? Did you break them down into manageable goals? Well I did and actually completed my goals for this past week! Breaking down goals is a great way to see your progress while you working towards the bigger goal. But, you need a way to cleary see the difference from start to finish. This week’s topic is how to reach your 2019 goals: measuring your progress.
When I started my fitness journey, I took photos of myself. I made sure to document where I was when I started to journey. The same is true for your goals! Before starting your journey towards your year goals, you need to document where you start. A way to document your progress through photos, journaling, videos, or a blog! Using my fitness example, I took photos and started a fitness journal where I wrote down my measurements and weight.
After you document where you start, you will want to measure your progress. Question: how will you measure your progress? If your goal is weight loss, take a photo before starting. Every month take a photo to see your progress. If your goal is saving money, document how much money you started with. Every month document how much you saved; always measure your progress! It helps you see your changes and it encourages you.

Tip: Once you have reached a milestone in your journey to your goals, celebrate. Go out, dress up, or buy something, just celebrate! Celebrating your progress helps you stay motivated in your journey.
Here are my 5 favorite ways to document my progress.
- Photos. Photos are great because you can see the change. Make sure that your photo is dated so if you forget when you started your journey you can look back and see.
- Journaling. Writing down your progress gives you the opportunity to express how you are feeling while on your journey towards your goals. Have a goal journal where you write your goals and progress. Always remember to date your entry.
- Videos. If you don’t like to write, then do a video. Videos are amazing because you can see the progress and talk about your progress as well. Just pull out your phone and create your own private vlog about your goal journey!
- Little novelties. I like to get little novelties when I have completed milestones in my goal reaching journey. It does not have to be expensive but just something to remind you of accomplishments and encourage you to keep working.
- Sticky Notes. I use sticky notes so much! I will write out my manageable goals on them and stick them on my goal wall. Once I have completed them I remove the sticky note. By using sticky notes, you can see the goal and remove it once it is completed.
I hope that as you are on your journey towards reaching your goals, that you find a way to mark your progress that you will love and enjoy. Remember, measuring your progress is to help you see that you are making positive strive towards completing your goal. If you have any ways that you measure your progress please comment them belove. Always remember to be real, be unique, and to be yourself!

I definitely have to do a better job of measuring my goals and keeping track of them. I know that will help so much in accomplishing them!

I love this post. I’m very visual so the sticky notes are a geat idea. I also try to use my YouTube channel as well.

This is exactly what I’ve been working on since the year started. Goals are being accomplished already. Great post!
